Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position 
The Coordinator Histology oversees and coordinates regional histology functions at multiple facilities.  Coordinates the work of Histotechnicians and Histotechnologists while ensuring proficiency of the function.                

Essential Job Functions
•    Prepares tissue samples for diagnosis by a pathologist. 
•    Compiles monthly workload and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) reports. 
•    Develops, evaluates and revises policies and procedures.    
•    Resolves operational problems.  
•    Ensures regulatory compliance for section. 
•    Instrument and process implementation.
•    Provide feedback to Supervisor/Manager regarding employee performance.

Licensing/Certification
HT Histotechnician Certification or HTL Histotechnologist Certification by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required)

Education
High School/GED (required)

Bachelors, Histology (preferred)

Work Experience
3 years of histology experience (required)
5 years of histology experience (preferred)
