How we serve the Greenville community
Bon Secours St. Francis Health System is now a food donor for Loaves & Fishes, a not-for-profit locale to Greenville County. The food donation program began in mid-June, and within the first three weeks, 37 trays of food were donated and redistributed by Loaves & Fishes.
The opportunity to minimize food waste and address food insecurity within Greenville was identified by a clinical pharmacist and member of our community health team.
Thank you to all those who’ve helped bring to life this relationship that is benefiting our neighbors experiencing food insecurity.
Bon Secours St. Francis offers a new type of immunotherapy for our patients that’s transforming cancer care.
Andrew Honeychuck, Administrative Director of Oncology Services for Bon Secours St. Francis, shares “We’re excited to be able to expand the care options available here in the Upstate for our patients, especially because CAR T-cell therapy has been showing promising results for the future.”
By using genetically engineered versions of a patient’s own immune cells, it enables our clinicians to best support those diagnosed with lymphomas, some leukemias and multiple myeloma.
Since its debut in 2017, 90% of Greenville’s Project SEARCH interns found employment upon graduation which includes 19 interns hired at Bon Secours St. Francis.
Interns even have a state-of-the-art learning facility in the Joseph J. Pazdan Project SEARCH Center – a world-class, interactive classroom learning environment. It includes space for classroom instruction as well as training rooms, designed to reflect patient care areas, where interns can practice their skillsets.
The Women of St. Francis, part of the Bon Secours St. Francis Foundation, was formed in 2007 to empower women as health care decision-makers.
The Women of St. Francis host regular events for learning, socializing, celebrating and giving. These events focus on important health topics featuring experts who share information and empower group members to provide input regarding what women really want in a health care setting.
