Mercy Health - St. Rita’s Medical Center is proud to announce that we have become the first accredited Transcatheter Valve Certified Center in the region.

The center is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team of experts providing a fully comprehensive program to patients suffering from advance cardiac disorders. In obtaining this recognition from the American College of Cardiology, we provide our community with highly specialized and highly qualified cardiac care. The program model is rooted in the latest up-to-date science and evidence-based practices and maintains the highest standards in the quality of pre-, intra-, and post-procedural management of structural heart patients.

In partnership with the community, Mercy Health works to address the social determinants of health.

Food insecurity is a very real problem in many communities. The Lima Blessing Boxes program is a free-standing pantry box stocked with non-perishable food items such as boxes of cereal, canned foods, pasta, peanut butter, personal care items and available around the clock to those in need.

Registered Nurse, Laurie C., shared the idea with her manager while stocking a similar blessing box near her church. Her manager encouraged her to contact hospital leaders. From there, a committee was formed, made up of representatives from various departments, to promote and oversee the project.

We believe compassionate care can extend beyond the hospital walls. Learn more who we are here.

St. Rita’s Medical Center has been honoring individuals with the Legend’s Award since 2001.

To be a Legend of Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center is both an Honor to the Associate and to our entire staff. A Legend represents our Core Values in action and exemplifies the best in us.

This recognition program allows employees to be nominated by other employees in our organization. After the Legends are nominated, we surprise them by joining with their coworkers, managers and family to notify them of this honor.

St. Rita’s Medical Center received certification from DNV, a cardiac and stroke hospital accreditation program, as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, which recognizes the facility at the highest level of competence for treatment of serious stroke events.

With this designation, St. Rita’s Medical Center is the only hospital within a 60- to 90-mile radius to be awarded this certification.

“With St. Rita’s increased capabilities as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and through partnering with area pre-hospital providers for education, training and our Stroke Alert process, we can reduce the time to care and treatment for patients experiencing stroke throughout Allen County and surrounding communities, all the while keeping patients closer to home for the definitive care that they need.”   Brain A., EMS Coordinator.

St. Rita’s Medical Center recently announced a community medicine program partnership with The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Students who enroll have the opportunity to train alongside our clinicians while helping to increase the number of physicians caring for patients in mid-size and rural communities.

The alliance is committed to transforming the health of the communities we serve, while making health care more affordable and accessible for all. Together, we’ll drive the change that is needed to create a new state of health in Ohio.

GenNext Program - Rising Stars is a paid internship for high school students interested in health care. Students explore various career opportunities at St. Rita’s Medical Center like observing a surgery, riding along with LACP, learning how the pharmacy robot works, touring the emergency department and shadowing nurses in ICU.

Program leads ensure each student graduates the program with connections and resources to move forward in their future career.

The St. Rita’s Medical Center Scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors with  interest in pursuing careers in the medical field.

In addition to being awarded financial support, students are connected with team members at St. Rita’s Medical Center and invited to attend special events as well as activities related to health care during their collegiate career. We are passionate about career growth.
