How we serve the Youngstown community
Our mission 100 years ago remains the same as it is today – to extend the compassionate ministry of Jesus by improving the health and well-being of our communities and bring good help to those in need, especially people who are poor, dying and underserved.
Erika M., Certified Nurse Practitioner shares, “accounting for nearly 150,000 deaths every year, strokes are the fifth leading cause of death in the United States. It is vital to the health of our community for us to provide high-quality stroke care here in the Mahoning Valley.”
After receiving initial certification in 2004, one of the first hospitals in the state of Ohio, St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital has undergone a rigorous review of quality compliance, management, facilitating and delivering the standard of care.
- Certification from The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval
- American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check Mark for Primary Stroke Care
As the first mobile care unit using 3D mammography, certified radiologists review results and send a copy to the primary care physician.
Servicing over 25 sites monthly, the Mobile Mammography Unit is able to perform over 9,500 breast exams for women in the Mahoning Valley each year.
Since then, specially trained physicians, RNs, Imaging and Surgical Techs at the St. Elizabeth Robotic Surgery Center have completed more than 1,000 robot-assisted surgeries.
The center offers clinicians minimally invasive treatment options for a wide range of conditions. Surgeries performed include urologic procedures to treat prostate cancer, gynecologic procedures including hysterectomy and general surgical procedures.
St. Joseph Warren Hospital and Mission Committee members presented a special donation to Warren Family Mission in honor of Saint Joseph. The hospital collected donations in the Café, Gift Shop and other facility locations to celebrate its patron saint, Saint Joseph.
The Warren Family Mission offers housing, meals, and emotional and spiritual support to those in need in Trumbull County.
