The Surgical Technologist, working under the direction of the Nurse manager and the supervision of the circulating nurse and the surgeon performs the functions of surgical scrub; scrubs on operative procedurs using aseptic technique; performs pre-operative shave and preparation; provides the care of, proper use of and reassembling of instrumentation. The Surgical Technologist actively promotes behaviors that are consistent with the mission and values of the organization. He/she demonstrates and reinforces CQI principles with unit customers, including patients, families, physicians, nursing and other staff members.The Surgical Technologist supports positive patient, family and staff relationships.
Required Minimum Education:
Specialty/Major:Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS (must be non-expired/active unless otherwise stated):
Required:Certification required within one year of hire, attaining competence in the assigned area.
Current CPR card.
Preferred:Experience in customer service. Computer literacy. Previous experience working in the operating room.
