POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this position is produce high quality radiographic procedures, CT procedures, and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner.

Schedule of the position is Sunday through Thursday 11PM - 7AM

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a program accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
  • CPR certification required. 
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Obtains patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
  • Operates radiographic equipment and accessories.
  • Operates computed tomography equipment and accessories.
  • Position and immobilize patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
  • Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others. Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
  • Performs radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment, and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.
  • Verifies informed consent and completes pre and post procedure documentation.
  • Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures.
  • Applies appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed.
  • Performs timeout as required per policy. Identifies, prepares and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluates images for technical quality.
  • Documents patient dose exposures.
  • Initiates basic life support action when necessary.
  • Uses PACS, Radiant, Transport Tracking and ConnectCare with proficiency.
  • Professionally interacts with physicians, technologist, physician offices, hospital staff, patient family members and patients.
  • Completes assigned tasks in a time frame appropriate for the situation; demonstrates flexibility to fluctuation in work load.  
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in Radiology. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.
