Installs, inspect, instructs, operates, performs preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and maintains low voltage non-medical equipment used in health care delivery field.  The Specialist maintains and exhibits competency in a rapidly changing low-voltage communications environment and must work independently to manage work priorities, equipment inventories and accurately maintains extensive documentation.  Installs and maintains low-voltage hospital communication systems such as intercom systems, overhead paging systems, cable TV systems, televisions (including the interfaces), patient information boards, wireless devices, all audio-visual equipment, two-way radio systems (including Life Flight) Interactive TV, synchronized clock system etc.  Installs, performs preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on all code blue, nurse call systems, and Xenex UV Disinfection Robot.  Assists with any low voltage wiring installation, telecommunication system, fire system, medical etc.  Consults with customers to ascertain that equipment meets their needs and functions properly and safely. Performs all project work related to low voltage systems.  Demonstrates and trains customers on the operation of equipment.  Works closely with the Biomed and Information Services departments on integrated systems.
