Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Student Success and in collaboration with the Director of Career, Professional Development, and Retention, the Student Success Specialist is responsible for assisting the Toledo and Youngstown student population with both retention and completion initiatives as the College provides additional support to students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to communicating, coordinating and assisting in outreach efforts to students and promotion of program and services offered through the Student Success Center to ensure as much as possible the overall success of students.
Essential Job Functions
Assists with the increasing demand for student support during COVID-19 by managing and monitoring Early Alert Referrals and Academic Success Plans.
Communicates with students and faculty to determine the appropriate intervention required and to ensure measures are in place for successful student outcomes.
Provides additional outreach efforts during COVID-19, specifically to students who have been identified as at-risk since all course content (didactic) is being delivered online/remote.
Collaborates with Student Success Center staff to develop and implement the promotion of programs, services and resources available to students during the pandemic.
Informs the Assistant Dean of Student Success if additional resources are needed for students who may be struggling with their coursework outside of what is currently offered.

Associates, Education/Social Work/related field (preferred)
Bachelors, Education/Social Work/related field (preferred)
1-2 years of experience in education, social work, or related field (required)
2+ years experience in customer service (required)
