Through this paid training program, participants complete online and in-person learning while gaining clinical experience in a patient care setting.

Patient Care Technicians support nurses and care teams by assisting with daily patient care, taking vital signs, helping with mobility and creating a positive patient experience. Many PCT roles are open to individuals who are new to health care. While some positions may require certifications or prior experience, others provide training and hands-on learning opportunities to help you build the skills needed for a career in patient care.
Patient Care Technicians receive hands-on training, onboarding support and guidance from experienced care teams. Throughout their role, they work closely with nurses, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members while developing patient care skills, learning safety procedures and gaining the confidence to provide compassionate, high-quality care.
Patient Care Technicians can work in a variety of hospital and patient care settings, including medical-surgical, rehabilitation, emergency, behavioral health and specialty units. Schedule options may include day, evening, night, weekend and PRN shifts, depending on the role and location.
